SA Rotsbore Pty Ltd
We strive to provide successful projects within timeframes and budget and building good relationships with clients.
SA Rotsbore was founded in the 1960’s by the Booysen and Booysen group and is still successfully run today by a father and son duo, Johan Booysen and Johann-Louw Booysen.
Exploration Drilling
Exploration drilling allows individual sector to probe the contents of known ore deposits and allows geologists to extract and examine core profile samples.
DTH Drilling
Down-the-hole drilling (DTH) essentially involves a drilling hammer at the bottom of a drill string. It relies on three elements for drilling holes: bit loading (weight), rotation and air.
RC Drilling
Reverse Circulation drilling is a method of drilling which uses dual wall drill rods that consist of an outer drill rod with an inner tube.
Mud Rotary Drilling
In mud rotary drilling, fluid is pumped down the hollow drill pipe, forced out of openings in the drill bit. Materials are then carried to the surface via the mud and is then reused either through a mud containment system or pit.
Reverse Flood Drilling
As the air rises and expands within the drill pipe, the density in the internal liquid column is reduced. The higher density of the water column outside the drill pipe causes the overburden and drill tailings to pass from the shaft, through the cutter head and rise up through the drill pipe
Hydraulic/Water Hammer
A water-powered hammer uses the pressurized water for more than just powering the hammer and bringing the cuttings to surface. Water also acts as a lubricant and eliminates the need for any oil.
Grouting
Grout is a composite material generally consisting of water, cement, and sand. It is typically used for filling voids under machines or other structural elements, sealing joints and openings in surfaces and reinforcing existing structures.
Test Pumping
A pumping test consists of pumping groundwater from a well, usually at a constant rate, and measuring the change in water level (drawdown) in the pumping well and any nearby wells (observation wells) or surface water bodies during and after pumping
